Power Metal Band from German - Angel Dust
Angel Dust adalah band speed/thrash metal yang dibentuk di Jerman pada tahun 1984. Band ini pada awalnya dipengaruhi gaya musik New Wave of British Heavy Metal, namun seiring dengan semakin terkenalnya aliran musik Thrash Metal dan Speed Metal pada waktu itu, band ini kemudian memusatkan bentuk musiknya kepada tipikal-tipikal musik tersebut.Album Into the Dark Past yang dirilis melalui Disaster records pada tahun 1986 merupakan album pertama mereka. Album kedua mereka dirilis pada tahun 1988 berjudul To Dust You Will Decay. Album kedua yang dirilis pada tahun 1988 itu sekaligus menjadi album terakhir band ini selama beberapa tahun. Hal ini dikarenakan band Angel Dust mengalami perpecahan akibat konflik intern pada tahun 1990.
Angel Dust kemudian dihidupkan kembali pada tahun 1998 oleh Frank Banx dan Dirk Assmuth. Di tahun tersebut mereka berdua mencari anggota baru untuk band ini. Pembentukan kembali band ini sekaligus menjadi tanda atas perubahan bentuk aliran musik mereka yang semula Speed/Thrash Metal menjadi Power Metal.
Di tahun yang sama setelah pembentukan kembali band ini, mereka merilis album ketiga yang berjudul Border of Reality. Aliran yang penuh dengan gaya-gaya Power Metal pada lagu-lagu baru mereka menjadikan band Angel Dust mendapatkan reputasi tinggi sebagai band metal di Eropa.
Namun reputasi yang kian solid di Eropa ini tidak sejalan dengan personil band. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan masih seringnya line-up anggota band.
Album keempat mereka dirilis pada tahun 2000 berjudul Enlighten the Darkness, disusul dengan perilisan album kelima Of Human Bondage pada tahun 2002. Setelah album kelima ini dirilis, band tidak memunculkan tanda-tanda akan membuat album baru. Barulah di tahun ini, band Angel Dust merilis album keenam mereka bertajuk Tales from Ashes and Dust. Album yang dirilis pada tahun 2010 ini cukup berbeda dengan album yang lain. Pada album-album sebelumnya selalu berlabel Century Media records. Namun kali ini band tidak mengunakan label apapun.
